About Jessica

This is a quote from one of my favorite songs, "The Change" by Garth
Brooks.  It speaks to me as to why I feel the need to make things better
for the animals.

"One hand reaches out and pulls a lost soul from harm
While a thousand more go unspoken for
They say what good have you done
By saving just this one
It's like whispering a prayer in the fury of a storm

And I hear them saying you'll never change things
And no matter what you do it's still the same thing
But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me"

Jessica lives and trains locally.  She shares her home with her husband Chris, dogs
veterinary technician and hospital dog trainer at a busy veterinary hospital for nearly six
years.  In her free time she enjoys learning new things, taking agility classes with Etta,
riding Missy (preferably in the woods!) and hiking and kayaking with Chris and the dogs.  She
also loves to paint, draw, read and scrap book.

"Thank you for browsing through my site.  I hope by now you are feeling as I do, positive
training works and it is great!  I have learned that there is an enormous resistance to
positive training. People insist that you needed force to train a dog.  I have seen results
with positive training that I have never seen before when I used force based methods.  I
know it is simply not true and I will continue to believe it, train my dogs with it, and teach
it for as long as I am able.  No dog should have to suffer through some of the methods out
there, it is my mission to prevent that as much as possible".
