"Jessica has repeatedly and tirelessly donated her time and knowledge to the rescue dogs helping foster families manage new dogs to become more adoptable pets and helping to keep dogs in their homes." Liz Palmer - Poodle Rescue of New England, Volunteer Coordinator
"Jessica, We just wanted to thank you again for all of your extra time and attention to help Boomer. We can not believe the difference in his behavior in only six weeks! Again, we cannot thank you enough!!!!" Amy, Stan & "Boomer" McLean (American Bulldog Mix, pictured above)
"Our dog was affectionately known as "The Beast" before we took classes. Now he is great, and he even won the "Leave It Challenge" in class!" The Oser Family and "Broccoli" (Golden Retriever Mix)
"Everyone needs to take this class! Every pup needs a good foundation and this class does the job. Plus, puppy social time is a blast! It poops the puppies out and guarantees a good nights sleep for everyone!" Michelle, Dave and "Rudder" Morin (Lab Mix) (Instructor's note: Rudder is an amazing dog. She was the first blind puppy I ever taught and showed me the true meaning of heart, as did her family!)
"Jessica, You are a brilliant teacher. We are so glad to have met you first for Sasha's training. Rick and I and Sasha have come to love NH, and we are so grateful to have met you at the best vet in the country. Again, thank you and we look forward to taking further classes with you." The Stanford Family and "Sasha" (German Shepherd)
I wanted to let you know how Sammy has been doing the "new" approach you showed us to getting Sam to do her physical therapy stretches. We introduced Sam to turkey breast slices during her stretching time and she has responded very well to it and I no longer have to wear gloves! Sam had another follow up visit with the therapist from Brentwood and during the visit the therapist manipulated Sam's leg and knee a lot and Sam did not once try to bite the woman and she never growled or barked! The therapist was very pleased with her progress and we now have moved on to exercises rather than stretches. We are getting very good results and a happy puppy. Between swimming and the new exercises Sam now walks better and runs without the slight lean. Megan and I want to thank you again for all the time you have spent advising us and helping us out with Sammy. Sincerely, Ryan, Megan and "Sammy" Pelletier (Cockapoo, who had knee surgery and would not let anyone do her physical therapy)
Update from January of 09: Hi Jessica! Boomer had an appointment today down at Mass Vet referral Hospital in Woburn and I wanted to share a story with you as it's a true testament to how "going back to the basics" can really work! We had been in the waiting area for about 20 minutes and while he was being very well behaved, Boomer was starting to get a bit agitated. As more people (and dogs came in), he started to throw a Boomer temper tantrum... sits, body blocks and treats for calm behavior were no longer enough. Stan suddenyl looked at me and said let's play the "look at that" game... about 3 "look"s into it, Boomer settled into his down pose and immediately calmed down. Best of all- he stayed that way while people walked right past him. He kept looking around and looking back at me- calmly! Thank you so much for giving us the tools to go out and meet and greet in a calm way- it was so amazing to see it work in a real life situation! THANK YOU- Amy, Stan & "Boomer" McLean
Jessica, I just had to let you know that my walks with Reba have become SO pleasant ever since she went to school. I am a believer! Mary Tanzer and "Reba" (Large Lab)
